CBSE 10th Percentage Calculator (2026 Results) — How It Works

As the CBSE 10th result 2026 is highly anticipated, students are often curious about their final score. The 10th CBSE percentage calculator helps Class 10 students instantly calculate their board exam percentage based on their marks. Because CBSE itself doesn't grant an overall passing percentage on the marksheet, you must calculate it yourself for your class 11 admissions.

Many institutions use the CBSE best of 5 rule. If you have chosen additional subjects (so you have 6 or 7 subjects in total), our calculator automatically factors that in. It locks in English as a mandatory subject, then checks the marks across all your other subjects and uses only your top 4 highest-scoring subjects to ensure you get the best possible valid CBSE board percentage.

Quick, accurate, and completely free! Enter your marks obtained and the maximum marks per subject, click calculate, and get your percentage immediately. The rule applies generally, but remember specific colleges may require you to include core subjects like Math and Science regardless of your performance.

What is the CBSE Best of 5 Rule?

The current CBSE scoring guidelines prioritize certain subjects. The "Best of 5" rule applies if you have opted for additional subjects (e.g., Information Technology, AI). The rule ensures English is kept as a mandatory language subject, and then compares your scores among all remaining subjects.

  • Step 1: Keep English as a mandatory subject to be included in the calculation.
  • Step 2: Sort the scores from all your remaining subjects (Science, Maths, Social Science, Language 2, Optionals) from highest to lowest.
  • Step 3: The system picks the Top 4 highest scoring subjects from that remaining pool.
  • Step 4: Your percentage is calculated as: (English + Top 4 remaining / 500) × 100

Frequently Asked Questions

Did CBSE declare 10th result 2026?

Check the official CBSE website (cbseresults.nic.in) for the latest updates on the declaration of the 10th CBSE results for 2026.

Does CBSE provide grades or percentage?

The official CBSE marksheet provides subject-wise marks and positional grades, but it does NOT provide an aggregate percentage. You have to calculate the percentage yourself based on your admission requirements.

Are practicals and internal marks added?

Yes. Both your internal assessments (20 marks) and final written exams (80 marks) combine to form a total score out of 100 per subject. Make sure you enter your combined final marks for accuracy.

Can I calculate CGPA instead?

CBSE discontinued the CGPA system for Class 10 recently and moved back to marking schemes. However, if needed, you can generally divide your percentage by 9.5 to estimate an equivalent CGPA.
