Frequently Asked Questions
Can I appear in both SSC CGL and SSC CHSL in the same year?
Yes. There is no restriction on applying for multiple SSC exams simultaneously, provided you meet the eligibility criteria (age, qualification) for each. Many candidates appear in 2–3 SSC exams in the same year.
Is the SSC GD cutoff date different from other SSC exams?
Yes. SSC GD Constable uses January 1 of the following year as the age cutoff (e.g., January 1, 2027 for SSC GD 2026 cycle), while most other SSC exams use August 1 of the notification year.
Can I apply for SSC exams if I have a gap year after 12th?
Yes. SSC exams have no restriction on gap years. As long as you hold the required qualification and are within the age limit, you are eligible to apply.
Is there any limit on the number of attempts in SSC exams?
No. Unlike UPSC, SSC exams have no attempt limit. You can appear every year as long as you meet the age and qualification criteria. Age is the only hard cutoff.
